If you use a form on this site
When you ask for a free website design we store the web address you give us and your email. If you create an account and fill in the setup form, we also store your name, your business details, the style and features you choose and any files you upload. Your password is stored only as a one-way hash. We store all of it so we can do the work and reply to you. That is the only reason.
On the contact form we store your name, your email address, what your message is about, your website if you give it, and the message itself — to reply to you, and for no other reason. Your message is emailed to our support inbox so a person can answer it.
If you use our free website check
The website check reads the public website you enter, as a search engine does, and asks Google PageSpeed Insights to test its speed. We keep the address you checked, the language and the totals it found, so we can see which businesses use it.
If you then ask for your free design, we keep your email address to send you its private link and, at most, two reminders before the link removes itself. Every reminder has a link that stops them.
If you sign in with Google
Google tells us your name, your email address, your profile picture and that your address is confirmed. We use them only to create your account and sign you in, and we keep them with your account until you close it. We never see your Google password, never post to your Google account or read anything else in it, and never share this data with anyone. You can remove our access at any time in your Google Account, under Security.
If we contacted you first
We use information that was already published on your own website and in public business listings. We explain exactly how on how we found you.
Why we are allowed to use it
To do the work you ask for and to bill you, because that is our contract, or the step before it. To answer your messages, keep this site secure and count visits without knowing who you are, because we have a legitimate interest in running the business. To keep billing records, because tax law requires it. We use your data for nothing else, and nothing about you is decided automatically.
Who else sees it
We do not sell it, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not hand it to anyone else to market to you. These services help us run the business, and each sees only what it needs for its job:
- Stripe takes payments and works out VAT. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never reach our servers.
- Resend delivers our emails.
- Cloudflare sits in front of this site for speed and protection, so it sees the internet address of each visit.
- OVHcloud runs our servers, in Canada.
- Google, if you choose to sign in with Google, and for our free website check: PageSpeed Insights tests the website you check.
Stripe, Resend, Cloudflare and Google are based in the United States, and your data reaches them under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Canada, where our servers are, is recognized by the European Commission as protecting personal data to the EU's standard.
If you become a customer
Your site counts its visits the same way this one does: no cookies, no tracking across sites, a pseudonym that changes every day, and only the name of the site a visitor came from. Messages sent through your site's forms are stored for you and emailed to you.
Any personal data that flows through your website — contact form submissions, leads, bookings — belongs to you. We process it on your behalf and pass it straight to you. We do not build a marketing list out of your customers. The terms of service set out how we handle it for you.
When you visit this site
We count visits on our own server, without cookies and without any third party: the page you open, the name of the site you came from, whether you are on a phone or a computer, your country (from our network provider, never your address), and a pseudonym that changes every day, so the same person counts once a day and cannot be followed across days. Nothing is saved on your device to do it.
Cookies
This site sets no tracking or advertising cookies and runs no third-party analytics that follow you around the web. When you sign in, it sets the cookies that keep you signed in, and one that shows the dates in your dashboard in your own time zone. Both are needed for the service you asked for, and the sign-in cookies end when you sign out or after 30 days.
When you choose a language, or read a page in one, the site also remembers it in a small cookie, so the next page, your dashboard and our emails are in that language. It holds only the language and lasts a year.
How long we keep it
Messages to us that go nowhere are deleted within twelve months. Customer records are kept while you are a customer and for as long afterwards as the law requires us to keep billing records.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold on you, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, object to how we use it, or get a copy to take elsewhere. Ask through the contact form or email support@fablence.com. We answer within a month and confirm when it is done. You do not need to give a reason, and asking costs you nothing.
If you think we have handled your data wrongly, you can complain to Spain's data protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos.
If we sent you a preview of a redesigned site, it removes itself thirty days after we made it, on the date shown at the top of the page. To have it removed sooner, reply to our email or write to support@fablence.com and we delete it.
